Levitical Details

Aaron and his Sons (Tribal Sons of Levi)
were instructed with great detail how to offer sacrifices...
there are a tremendous amount of information
and we can feel a little overwhelmed with the layers of these laws and ordinances.
The Levites not only were priests but they also practiced primitive medical health.
Much of what they were giving oversight to; were Healthy Habits of the Newly Birthed Nation.

The Book of Leviticus also carries a unique chiastic pattern
that ultimately points to redemption and relationship restored between man and God
Thru the Day of Atonement...
Ultimately it is not about the minutia of the sacrificial system
but rather it is God's Plan to use tangible cultural practices, to help people see symbolically,
the work of God - making a way to once again walk among men
where holiness has been reestablished - restoring what once was - in the Garden of Eden.

One thing that may help us is to see much of the sacrifices
as a recipe book, that give the master chefs (Levites) the meal plan
so that we can once again sit down with our creator and have fellowship
and fellowship by human standards/cultures often revolves around a meal shared together.
For example Communion itself & its given ingredients of bread & wine
pictures a meal and restored fellowship.

Exodus [Hard & Soft Evidence]

Time for us to do some critical thinking...
Most of us have grown up with some cinematic version of the Exodus, right?
So where was was there theatrical license, and what stays true to the scriptures?
the animated version of Prince of Egypt, the award winning Ten Commandments,
or recent premier of Exodus: Gods & Kings...
We also live in a period of history where archaeological endeavors are surfacing physical evidence of such an exodus - so how do we interpret the evidence, and why might it be significant?

Solomon's Commemorative Monuments
Did you know evidence has been found of settlement of Jewish-like people in the Cush regions of Egypt - dating back to the time of Joseph and his linage...?
How about written histories of mass murder of infants?
the likelihood of wilderness wanderings?
Monuments testifying to the exact locations of crossing the Red Sea?
Probable Locations of Israel's encampments?
the pursuit of Pharoah's Army, the Bitter Waters, the 70 Palm Trees & 12 Wells?
the Split Rock, The Real Mount Sinai (Horeb), the Altar(s)
and much, much more...
What is soft evidence, what is hard evidence, and what does it matter...

Ultimately each of us have to make our own minds up.
Did the Exodus really take place, and if it did - what does that imply
(regardless of the persuasion of tangible or intangible evidence).

The Exodus Route

Traditional Exodus Route
Little to No evidence, with history of Mt. Sinai basically discredited...
Alternative Exodus Route
Arabian Evidence more plausible, but Sinai Crossing (Strait of Tiran weak link)
Currently the most credible Exodus Route
Majority of the Evidence points to the above scenario,
though its original credibility remains tainted by amateur archaeologists...

One of Many links out there worth checking out
